As you all know, Telegram is a great messaging service giving us cross-platform messaging features. And this article will guide you how to install Telegram but in a different way.
We will not install the GUI but we will use the Terminal directly to send and receive messages too, which is great, right. You don’t have to open the Telegram window anymore, just use the Terminal!
In this article, I will guide you more towards Ubuntu, if you use other distros, please scroll down to the bottom of the article.
Import sudo apt install telegram-cli then type Y and press enter to begin the installation
Type telegram-cli to run telegram. When it runs for the first time, it will ask you to enter your phone number. Enter the phone number registered with telegram and press Enter.
Wait a little while there is an SMS message, you check if it is sent from Telegram with the code, then enter the code.
I will try to text the group of test names I have created.
And this is the result
SOME COMMANDS TO WORK WITH TELEGRAM
- contact_list: shows a list of your contacts
- dialog_list: show individual and group chat list with number of unread messages
- msg : send to a specific person or group
- history : show the message history of a person or group and you need to look up
Hope this helps!
